Administration Police Constable Samuel Ndirangu Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, has been declared to have deserted work by the National Police Service after allegedly failing to return from official off-duty.
According to an internal memo dated June 9, 2025, Samidoh, who serves in the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (MTD Company), was scheduled to resume duty on May 27, 2025. However, he has not reported back, and efforts by authorities to reach or locate him have been unsuccessful.
“The officer was granted an off-duty and was supposed to report back on May 27, 2025, but he failed. Since then, he has not been seen and his whereabouts are not known,” the memo states.
The notice was circulated from Stockpol Gilgil to key police units, including the Deputy Inspector General of APS, Vigilance House Nairobi, the Central Records Office (CRO), and all Station Police Commanders across the country. Samidoh was officially declared a deserter effective June 6, 2025, for being absent without official leave (AWOL) for more than 10 days.
In response, the Pay Section has been instructed to suspend his salary immediately. Stockpol MTD Company has also been directed to begin further disciplinary procedures. The CRO Nairobi will include his desertion in the next National Police Gazette.
In addition, the Station Police Commander in Gatumbiro has been tasked with visiting Samidoh’s home to arrest him if he is found there.
Samidoh, also a renowned Kikuyu musician, has not released any public comment on his current status or whereabouts.
