The feud between comedian Oga Obinna and socialite Amber Ray continues to escalate, with Obinna now firing back after Amber publicly accused him of disrespecting her during a past music video collaboration.
The dispute traces back to the shoot of Obinna’s Kado music video, which Amber participated in. According to Amber, the comedian blindsided her by deviating from their original agreement during the shoot, making her feel disrespected and uncomfortable. She alleged that Obinna introduced unexpected elements that were never part of their deal.
However, Obinna has responded by disputing Amber’s version of events. He claimed she showed up to the shoot four hours late and appeared intoxicated, accompanied by her partner Kennedy Rapudo and his own ex-girlfriend, Liz. Obinna said the situation became so chaotic that Rapudo had to step in and manage the unfolding crisis.
“The person who was doing crisis management was Rapudo. He even apologized and explained things to me,” Obinna said, adding that Rapudo had initially approved Amber’s participation in the video.
Obinna also clarified the financial aspect of their agreement. He said they had agreed on a payment of KSh 50,000 for Amber’s appearance, but the payment was to be made only after she fulfilled her role professionally. “It’s true I hadn’t paid her yet because she hadn’t done her part. You show up, deliver, then you get paid,” he explained.
He added that Amber’s lateness and condition disrupted the shoot, forcing the crew to wait another five hours while she got her makeup done. The fallout, according to Obinna, strained their working relationship and led to the current online back-and-forth.
The drama continues to unfold publicly, with both parties sticking to their own versions of events.
