Controversial city car dealer Khalif Kairo is recovering after being involved in a serious road accident that left him with a fractured left hand.
Kairo, known for his lively personality and love for luxury cars, chose not to reveal the details of the accident but confirmed the news through his social media pages.
In his post, Kairo shared a photo of his injured hand and informed his followers that he would be undergoing a minor surgery. Despite the injury, he remained positive and thanked God for sparing his life.
“Had a major accident this afternoon that left me with a fractured left hand, but I am in great spirits. All glory goes to God. Due for a minor surgery shortly, praying all shall be well and we will keep pushing,” Kairo wrote.
Many of his fans and fellow influencers sent him messages of support, including content creator 2Mbili, who asked to visit him.
In an update shared the following morning, Kairo confirmed that his surgery went well. “Surgery went well. I appreciate your prayers and well wishes. May God bless you,” he posted.
However, the accident is just one of many challenges Kairo has faced recently.
In the past several months, the car dealer has found himself in the middle of legal troubles.
In January this year, Kairo was charged with tax fraud at the Nyeri Law Courts. He was accused of mis-declaring a Land Rover Range Rover Vogue as a cheaper used Range Rover Sport to avoid paying taxes.
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) claimed the move was an attempt to dodge over Ksh1.2 million in customs duty. Kairo pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of Ksh500,000.
This wasn’t his first time in trouble with the law.
In January 2025, Kairo was also arrested over claims of defrauding a client after allegedly failing to deliver a car that had already been fully paid for.
Videos shared online showed him being held at Capitol Hill Police Station during a heated exchange with police officers.
Just a month earlier, on December 3, 2024, Kairo was detained at a car yard in Ridgeways following similar claims from another client who accused him of failing to deliver a luxury vehicle.
Kairo, who is also very active on social media including his flaunting of his aeronautical skills, has on sevral occasions faced several accusations from clients over undelivered cars and questionable business dealings.
These cases have raised concerns about how he runs his car business with many losing trust in a man who once referred to himself as a billionaire.
The car dealer has also been involved in publicized relationships with beautiful girls with the relationships also ending in public spats.
