Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate has landed in trouble once again — this time for reckless driving.
Romanian traffic authorities say the 38-year-old was caught speeding at a shocking 196km/h (121mph) in a 50km/h (31mph) zone.
The incident happened on Saturday in the small village of Bujoreni, around 184 kilometers from Romania’s capital, Bucharest.
Tate, a dual British-American national, was slapped with a fine of £310 ($420) and had his driving licence suspended for 120 days, according to Romanian police.

Despite the clear speed gun reading, Tate has denied the offence.
In a social media post, he claimed the police radar must have been faulty. “I tried to explain to the officer that the speed gun must be calibrated incorrectly because I would never do this,” he wrote.
Tate has vowed to challenge the fine in court and remains confident that he will be proven innocent. He also asserted that he would “enjoy full and normal driving privileges in the meantime,” although Romanian officials confirmed his license suspension.
This isn’t Tate’s first brush with traffic laws in Romania.
In April 2021, he was reportedly stopped for driving a Porsche at 138km/h in a different town near Bucharest.
A year earlier, he received a speeding fine while in Germany.
The former kickboxing champion, known for flaunting his luxury sports cars online — including Bugattis, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris — has a long history of legal controversies.
In 2023, Romanian authorities seized several of his high-end vehicles as part of an ongoing investigation into serious criminal allegations.

Tate, along with his brother Tristan, is currently facing multiple charges in Romania, including rape and human trafficking.
Both brothers deny any wrongdoing. They are also battling separate legal issues in the UK and the United States.
Romanian courts have allowed the brothers to travel within the country and abroad, provided they follow certain conditions while their legal cases continue.
In addition to criminal charges, Andrew Tate is dealing with a civil lawsuit filed by four women in the UK who claim they were coerced into sex work.
In the U.S., an ex-girlfriend has accused him of sexual assault in a separate lawsuit. Despite the mounting legal troubles, Tate has consistently maintained his innocence.
Andrew Tate has built a massive following online by blending political rants with a flashy, high-roller lifestyle. His outspoken views and inflammatory statements — particularly about women — have earned him both loyal fans and vocal critics.

One of Tate’s recurring claims is that life is easier in Romania because, in his words, “corruption is accessible to everybody.” He has even criticized UK police in the past for refusing bribes, describing it as “offensive” behavior.
