Social media influencer Gorgina Njenga has candidly shared her journey through motherhood, heartbreak, and healing while co-parenting her daughter, Astra, with ex-boyfriend and actor Tyler Mbaya.
Speaking reflectively about raising their daughter — who recently turned three — Gorgina described the experience as both transformative and emotionally demanding.
“Raising Astra has not been easy, of course, but as they say, children have a way of healing you somehow,” she said.
Gorgina noted how fast her daughter is growing and emphasized how much Astra has inspired her through life’s darkest moments, including a mental breakdown following her breakup with Tyler.
“If I weren’t a mother, I don’t think I would have wanted to do better. Having Astra makes me pull back every time,” she admitted.
Gorgina and Tyler were together for three years before parting ways in 2023.
While she cherishes motherhood, she also cautioned others against rushing into it at a young age.
“I don’t regret having Astra, but I would not advise having a baby at a young age. I think for me, I broke up with my baby daddy in the long run, so it’s not advisable — but I was warned and I didn’t listen,” she joked.
Despite their split, Gorgina praised the success of their co-parenting arrangement, adding that they are both committed to providing a stable and supportive environment for their daughter.
“Tyler and I agreed on co-parenting, and it has been going well. There are no chances of us ever getting back together, but we want to have a healthy co-parenting relationship for our baby,“ she affirmed.
