Controversial gospel artiste Alex Nyachonga Apoko, better known as Ringtone, made headlines once again — this time for hosting an extravagant house party at his upscale Runda residence, just days after securing release on a Ksh3 million cash bail.
In a video shared by popular YouTuber 2 Mbili on May 26, 2025, the flamboyant singer was seen welcoming a select circle of celebrity friends, who pulled up in a convoy of flashy vehicles.
Inside, guests were treated to a generous spread of food, drinks, and easy banter as Ringtone played host.
2 Mbili, who was among the exclusive invitees, revealed the gathering was strictly for Ringtone’s trusted inner circle.
“Wassup, guys? Apoko has invited us for a bash at his place, so we are heading to the chairman’s house. He called me while I was in the hospital because I was struggling with severe eye problems, but now my eyes have improved, although they were watering heavily. He is quite anxious,” 2 Mbili shared.
“He has invited only his close friends, so if you are not close and you have not received a call or message, then you have not been invited by the chairman himself,” he added.

Fellow gospel artist Ezra FBI was also present, sharing snippets of the celebrations with fans online. After catching up in the lounge, the guests moved to the outdoor area where the party continued into the evening.
Speaking during the event, Ringtone explained that he needed a moment to relax and reconnect with his friends following a tough month.
“Those who have come here have feasted on everything. This comes after many hardships, including my recent hospital stay, where I was afflicted by severe complications that required urgent care. But I am thankful to be here now,” he stated.
The party came hot on the heels of Ringtone’s legal troubles.
On May 15, 2025, he was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts alongside co-accused Alfred Juma Ayora. The two face three serious charges — conspiracy to defraud, forgery, and perjury — linked to a scheme to unlawfully acquire land valued at Ksh50 million in the Karen area of Nairobi.
According to court documents, the duo allegedly attempted to fraudulently claim ownership of parcel number NAIROBI/BLOCK 99/142, measuring about 0.1908 hectares, which belongs to businesswoman Teresia Adhiambo Odhiambo.
The prosecution alleges they falsely declared they had occupied the land for over two decades.
Further claims indicate that on February 28, 2023, the two swore a false affidavit before advocate S.M. Katonya, asserting long-term occupancy of the contested property — a claim they are accused of knowing was entirely fabricated.
Ayora faces two additional charges for making false declarations, including allegedly presenting the fraudulent affidavit in an ongoing court case.
While Ayora had already appeared in court earlier, Ringtone was a no-show for multiple summons, leading to a warrant for his arrest. He was eventually taken into custody on May 15 and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Ringtone’s initial bail application was opposed over fears he might flee, but he was later released on a Ksh3 million bond or Ksh1 million cash bail, with strict conditions requiring two contact persons for his release.
The matter is now scheduled for hearing on August 6, 2025.
