Kenyan music star Bien Aime Baraza recently revealed that his father had six wives and fathered ten children—Bien being the youngest among them.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, one of the most popular radio shows in the United States, Bien reflected on how polygamous families operated in the past compared to modern times. He noted that such family structures once thrived because they were rooted in communal living and shared responsibility.
“I agree that it may not work now, but back then, it was about the community and taking care of each other,” Bien said.
Despite his background, Bien made it clear that he has no interest in pursuing a polygamous lifestyle himself. When asked if he would consider taking another wife, he firmly declined, expressing contentment in his current marriage.
Bien has been married to Chiki Kuruka—a fitness trainer and choreographer—for 11 years. The couple officially tied the knot on March 6, 2020, in a private ceremony held in Lavington, Nairobi.
