Gospel artist Moji Shortbabaa has addressed the public’s ongoing curiosity about why he and his wife, Nyawira Gachugi, have yet to start a family, four years after their marriage.
In a candid interview on Radio 47, Moji explained that the pressure to have children doesn’t come from his close family but from external sources, particularly social media users.
“There’s no pressure from my family. Our setup is quite different—my grandmother doesn’t pressure us. All that pressure comes from outside, from people who have opinions about everything,” he shared.
When asked whether they had made a conscious decision to delay starting a family, Moji clarified that they haven’t planned anything specific. The couple, however, believes that children will come in God’s perfect timing.
“We haven’t planned anything in particular, but we know a child is a blessing from God. Whether you plan or not, when it’s time, they’ll come,” he said.
Moji also spoke about his personal views on the subject, noting that he avoids passing judgment on other couples’ decisions regarding children. He recalled how he was born when his mother was just 17 years old, emphasizing the diversity of life experiences.
Earlier this month, the couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.
