Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation Mbosso Khan has broken his silence following the buzz surrounding his recent visit to his hometown of Kibiti, which coincided with his departure from Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB), the powerhouse music label founded by Diamond Platnumz.
The singer’s understated trip to Kibiti fueled rumors on social media, with many speculating that his career might be faltering. But Mbosso has clarified that the visit was deeply personal and not indicative of professional struggles.
“Sometimes, social life is enjoyable, and other times it becomes exhausting,” he explained. “Going back to Kibiti doesn’t mean I’m struggling. It’s my home. That’s where my relatives and childhood friends are—and I’m involved in other things there besides music.”
Mbosso, known for hits like Hodari, had been with WCB for nearly seven years. Since his departure, he’s kept a relatively low profile musically, leading to further speculation about his next move.
Addressing rumors that his split from WCB involved financial obligations, Mbosso revealed that Diamond Platnumz let him go without any monetary demands.
“You won’t believe it. After seven years under WCB, I wasn’t asked to pay anything when I left. That was a great act of love,” he shared.
