TikTok star Alma Mutheu is back in the headlines after the ‘regrettable’ remarks she made regarding being the sole provider in her relationship with Gift Muziq strained their relationship.
The influencer recently admitted that comments she made during a joint interview last December left lasting damage between them.
In a conversation with actress Morin, Mutheu revealed that she deeply regretted remarks about being the sole provider in their relationship — comments that many viewed as publicly embarrassing for Gift.
“Immediately after the interview, I realized I had gone beyond the limits in what I said,” Mutheu confessed.
“So, I apologized to him immediately because he was looking dull; he felt like I overstepped. I apologized immediately as a form of damage control, but he has been telling me that it is something that hurt him.”
Despite the apology, the hurt lingered. Mutheu admitted she never checked in later to see how he was coping or if the situation had motivated any change.
Instead, she chose to focus on herself, though she’s now carrying insecurities about future relationships.
“At the moment, I don’t know if I’m ready to start again with someone because the first time I did that, this is what happened to me,” she said.
“I’ve got those fears and insecurities — what if this guy ends up like the first one? What if we reach a point and start experiencing the same issues?”

The incident in question happened during a December 2024 appearance on the Obinna Show Live, where Mutheu vented about being the primary financial supporter in the relationship.
“It gets to a certain point where, as a woman, you get tired of doing everything,” she said.
“It’s fine — not everyone is able, but you can’t stay with a person for a very long time, like three years, two years, and after all that time, you’re still the one providing as a woman.”
She clarified later that her intention wasn’t to bash Gift, but to express the frustration she felt over the imbalance.
“I’m not complaining, and I’m not saying Gift is a bad person. Gift is someone who can work for himself if pushed,” Mutheu explained.
During the interview, Gift Muziq sat beside her, visibly uncomfortable, bowing his head and avoiding eye contact. He later responded to some of Mutheu’s claims, clarifying a key point about their living situation.
“I didn’t move into her house. We each live separately,” he stated.
