Fashion designer Misa Hylton, an influential hip-hop fashion mogul, attended the criminal trial of her former partner, Sean “Diddy” Combs, in New York City to support their 31-year-old son, Justin Combs.
Despite recovering from a recent leg injury that required her to use a walker, Hylton stated she was not one to let go of family, stating on Instagram, “When my son said, ‘Mommy, I need you,’ I was right there for him walker and all.”
Hylton and Combs began their relationship in the early 1990s, during which time Combs was an intern at Uptown Records. They welcomed Justin in December 1993 but separated shortly after.
Despite their breakup, they have maintained a co-parenting relationship, with Hylton often present at family events, including Combs’ 50th birthday celebration in 2019.

Beyond her role as a mother, Hylton has been vocal about issues affecting her family.
Following a 2024 raid on Combs’ Los Angeles home, where Justin and his brother Christian were handcuffed by Homeland Security agents, Hylton criticized the authorities for their “overzealous and overtly militarized force,” suggesting racial bias in their actions.
In May 2024, after footage surfaced showing Combs allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, Hylton expressed her support for Ventura and shared that the incident triggered her own past trauma.
She emphasized the importance of supporting their children, especially those who have lost their mother, and stated that Combs “needs help” and she is “praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”
Combs, who was arrested in September 2024, faces multiple charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
He has pleaded not guilty and is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial began on May 12, 2025, and is expected to last several weeks.
