Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a new allegation of assault from 2001, adding to his ongoing sex trafficking trial and other sexual assault accusations.
According to a lawsuit filed in New York County Supreme Court on Wednesday, May 14, a woman identifying herself as Jane Doe claims the music mogul assaulted her in July 2001.
The lawsuit, first reported by TMZ, also names other defendants, including Bad Boy Entertainment.
Doe alleges she first met Combs in an elevator with three friends in May 2001. She claims the artist asked for her phone number that same day, and she and her friends later met him at a nightclub.
During their second encounter two days later, Doe alleges Combs attempted to kiss her, but she “physically moved” to avoid it.
Despite this, Combs allegedly contacted her again in July 2001 and invited her to his studio.
Doe says she brought a friend with her, and after spending time at the studio, the group went to a club. A “sudden commotion” broke out, according to court documents, prompting bodyguards to rush them out and drive them to a restaurant.
Doe claims that when she and her friend decided they were “ready to leave and chose to do so without warning,” Combs allegedly berated her over the phone.
The lawsuit alleges they met once more “on or about July 31, 2001,” when Doe and a friend joined Combs at the studio before boarding a tour bus, where they allegedly saw “opened condom wrappers, used condoms, and women’s underwear.”
After arriving at their destination, the Bowery Ballroom, Doe claims they were taken to a private area and given drinks that made them feel “weird.”
Later, Doe, her friend, Combs, and two or three other people allegedly left in a black SUV and stopped at Combs’ New York City apartment. It was there, Doe claims, that Combs “forcefully” led her into his bedroom, “put his hand around her throat and said, ‘I’m going to suck the life out of you.’ ”
She alleges that after he released her neck, he held down her arm “while using his other hand to swiftly unbuckle his belt and pants, before pulling out his erect bare-skinned penis which appeared to be the length and girth of a large tootsie roll.”
Doe claims to have felt “relieved” about its size “because she knew it wouldn’t hurt as much,” but she screamed for him to get off.
Combs allegedly ignored her protests and “slid her underwear to the side, and forcefully engaged in vaginal intercourse with her without her consent and against her will.”
According to the lawsuit, Combs did not stop “until he was close to climax,” at which point he allegedly removed himself and ejaculated on her. Doe says she then went to the bathroom to clean herself off and fled to the waiting black SUV, which drove her and her friend home.
The filing states that Combs attempted to contact her about two days later, but Doe did not respond. She also ignored an invitation to one of his famous white parties.
The lawsuit claims the alleged assault left Doe with “trouble being vulnerable and alone with men,” causing her to withdraw from others and feel like “a shell of herself.” Around a year later, she reportedly began weekly therapy sessions for about six months.
The suit alleges Doe “suffered physical abuse, emotional abuse, trauma, injury, and psychological damage, as a result of the defendants’ intentional, negligent, and criminal actions.” She is seeking a jury trial and damages.
