Model and influencer Valeria Marquez has tragically died at the age of 23 while livestreaming from her beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico.
According to a report from the local attorney general’s office, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. while Marquez was at her Blossom Beauty Lounge.
Preliminary investigations reveal that a man entered the salon and fired a gun at her.
The horrifying moment was captured on video, as Marquez was livestreaming content for her followers on TikTok.
In the clip, which has since circulated online, she can be seen clutching her ribcage after being struck and then slumping over.
A statement released by Jalisco officials on Tuesday, May 13, confirmed that authorities responded to emergency calls and, upon arriving, paramedics pronounced Marquez dead at the scene.
As the investigation began, police officers and a public prosecutor’s agent gathered information in an effort to identify the suspect.
Members of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences collected evidence from the salon, and her body was transported for an autopsy and official identification by family members, according to the attorney general’s office.

In the hours leading up to the tragedy, Marquez had shared selfies and professional modeling photos on social media.
One of her last posts was a now-expired mirror selfie on her Instagram Stories.
At the time of her death, she had amassed 149,000 followers on Instagram and over 114,000 on TikTok.
News of her death left her online community in shock, with many leaving messages of grief and disbelief on her recent posts.
One follower wrote, “She was very beautiful,” while another added, “I hope justice is served, she didn’t deserve that ending.”
