Akorino gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has made headlines once again — this time for gifting his first wife, Triza Njeri, a brand new Nissan X-Trail, following months of public marital drama.
In a post shared on social media, Karangu announced the upgrade from Triza’s old Mazda Demio to a bigger, flashier ride.
“Am a listening husband….I had to upgrade, it’s from Demio to a big machine🤣 Congratulations Triza Mamake Muraya sasa ufanye job kabisa na Baba watoto aheshimiwe…,” he wrote.
This grand gesture comes in the wake of Triza’s public grievances about their strained marriage, which began after Karangu took a second wife, Carol Kim.
Triza had previously opened up about feeling abandoned, revealing that Carol was enjoying better treatment — from driving a Toyota Harrier to having a nicer phone and living in Nairobi’s outskirts, while she lived in Gatundu, which is rural.
Triza’s complaints didn’t stop there. She lamented that Karangu spent most of his time with Carol and even when visiting her, Carol would constantly call and interrupt.
The two, married for over 13 years with three children, saw their relationship face heavy turbulence in recent months.

Sharing her excitement after receiving the new car, Triza took to social media to reveal the car was officially registered in her name.
“Baba Muraya mimi naenda na gari gani? Demio. Mama Muraya si gari zote ni zangu, hakuna ya mtu 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Hii nayo imetoka na jina yangu aki. Nimefurahia sana,” she said, overjoyed.
This thoughtful surprise comes just weeks after the two reunited publicly for the first time in over two months during an emotionally charged event at Thika’s Blue Springs Hotel on April 27.
The highly anticipated gathering saw Karangu, Triza, and their three children embracing on stage in front of an emotional crowd.
The atmosphere was electric as Karangu performed some of his gospel hits while Triza and her friends danced joyfully. In a heartwarming moment, Karangu and Triza shared laughter, smiles, and even a dance together — rekindling cherished memories of their once tight-knit family.
Karangu didn’t just stop at music and dancing; he showed support for Triza’s album launch by contributing KSh 200,000, while his friends added another KSh 500,000.
Taking the stage, Karangu addressed Triza’s family with humility. He offered a heartfelt apology for the difficult times they’d faced and expressed his hope for better days ahead.
A preacher present delivered a moving sermon, praying for peace and unity within the family, as popular musicians like Samidoh, Wanja Asali, and Tata Essy kept the festivities alive.
At one point, Karangu and Triza were seen holding hands, dancing together as Samidoh performed a song about building a home — a symbolic moment for the once-separated couple.
Fans will however be holding their breathe as they wait to see whether these two will reconcile.
