Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone is embracing a new chapter in his life — and he’s got serious backup from his family.
After publicly announcing that he’s quit smoking and drinking for good, the Valu Valu hitmaker is earning praise from fans, friends, and especially his brother, fellow musician Weasel Manizo.

In a candid interview with Spark TV, Weasel didn’t hold back about how far he’s willing to go to support his brother’s lifestyle change.
“I will thump anyone I find giving alcohol to Chameleone because doctors told him not to take any,” he warned.
“I just hope the government doesn’t throw me in jail for how badly I’ll hurt them.”

Chameleone’s decision follows a serious health scare last year when he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, a condition doctors linked to prolonged alcohol use.
The illness took a heavy toll on his health, leading to significant weight loss and forcing the star to rethink his lifestyle.
At some point, the legendary singer had to be flown to the United States of America for specialized treatment.
Speaking during a recent media tour in Kenya, Chameleone reflected on his journey, saying, “This is my new beginning. The first part of my life is done. I’ve got just three years until I hit 50 — it’s time to slow things down and focus on what really matters.”
