A star-studded team of Kenya’s top entertainers has been assembled to search for the country’s next big talent in an exciting new reality show set to premiere soon.
The show, dubbed ‘Next Super Star’, will feature some of the biggest names in the industry, including comedian Eddie Butita, celebrated TV host Amina Abdi, rapper King Kaka, gospel sensation Size 8 Reborn, and hitmaker producer Motif the Don. Together, they’ll host, mentor, and judge contestants as they chase their dreams of stardom.
The celebrity lineup was officially unveiled during a glamorous launch event held over the weekend at Pullman Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The evening attracted high-profile guests from both the entertainment world and government circles.

Among those in attendance were StarTimes CEO Jimmy Carter, Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy Jacob Fikirini, and Kenya Film Commission CEO Timothy Owase.
Speaking at the event, Carter revealed that StarTimes has pumped KSh100 million into the show’s production, a clear statement of the broadcaster’s commitment to nurturing Kenyan talent.
“‘Next Super Star’ isn’t just a competition—it’s a platform to spotlight young creatives, give them national exposure, and offer life-changing opportunities,” Carter announced.
He added that the show will run for 13 live episodes, alongside 13 mid-week highlights on Rembo TV, with 18 contestants set to win prizes worth over KSh1 million.

The highly anticipated competition will officially hit screens on May 3, 2025, with contestants showcasing their skills in front of a panel of celebrity judges. King Kaka, Size 8 Reborn, and Motif the Don will have the challenging task of picking out Kenya’s next entertainment superstar.
Co-host Amina Abdi couldn’t hide her excitement about the project.
“This is about giving young, fresh talent a shot at greatness. I’m thrilled to be part of a show that’s set to shape the future of Kenya’s creative industry,” she said.
