American YouTube sensation and philanthropist MrBeast has captured the hearts of many Kenyans after transforming a school and its surrounding community in Narok County, Kenya.
Known for his big-hearted stunts and charitable giving, MrBeast — real name James Stephen Donaldson — visited Oloirien Primary School with a mission to tackle both education challenges and food insecurity in the area.
In a video released on April 12, the internet star vowed to link his latest YouTube views directly to impact on the ground.
“You watching this video will supply farmland, build massive kitchens, build schools with food for their students, and save children from child labour,” he told his viewers.
Transforming the School Experience
Upon arrival at the school, MrBeast immediately began upgrades to the school’s infrastructure. A major highlight was the donation of brand new desks — a huge relief to students who had previously been learning while seated on the cold, dusty floor or cramped four-to-a-desk.

Cheers erupted from pupils as a truck packed with desks rolled into the compound, signalling the beginning of long-awaited comfort and dignity in learning.
Feeding Programme Spurs School Attendance
MrBeast didn’t stop at just furniture. He launched a feeding programme that has already seen school attendance numbers surge dramatically.
To support the sustainability of the meals initiative, he equipped the local community with farming tools and modern agricultural technology. This included the donation of a tractor to boost food production on a farm run by his foundation, with part of it specifically designated for the school.
“Because of our meal programme, the school attendance skyrocketed,” MrBeast said, highlighting the direct link between nutrition and education.
A large kitchen was also built to facilitate the preparation of two daily meals for students. Alongside it, a well, water storage tank, greenhouse, and dedicated farmland were installed to ensure a consistent food supply.
To distribute any surplus produce, MrBeast even donated a delivery truck, connecting the school’s food output to local markets.
By the end of his stay, Oloirien Primary School was stocked with food for 100,000 meals, setting it on a solid path toward long-term food security.
Funding Impact Through Views
MrBeast revealed that the entire project was funded through revenue generated from his YouTube videos, which routinely rack up millions of views.
The entrepreneur has built an empire around his content. With brand deals said to bring in up to $3 million per video, MrBeast reinvests much of it into his charitable work.
His business ventures are also booming. Feastables, his chocolate brand, made $250 million in sales in 2024 alone, with profits exceeding $20 million.
He also runs MrBeast Burger, a virtual restaurant brand that operates through ghost kitchens across the U.S., and is behind the new “Beast Games” reality show on Amazon Prime.
