Friends and former colleagues of Justin Bieber are voicing growing concern over the pop star’s recent behavior and emotional state, as the “Sorry” singer appears to be navigating a turbulent chapter in his life.
According to a source close to the 30-year-old singer, Bieber is “facing a lot of different demons right now,” adding that his recent decisions are taking a toll on friendships, finances, and business ventures.
“People are really worried about him,” the insider told the media.
Ghosts of the Past and Fractured Ties
Among the weighty issues reportedly affecting Bieber is the upcoming trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, with whom Bieber was loosely affiliated during the mid-2010s.
Another major shakeup in Bieber’s circle has been the end of his long-standing relationship with Scooter Braun, his former manager, who officially retired in 2024.
In another surprising move, Bieber cut ties with his clothing brand Drew House — a fashion label he co-founded and championed for years.
“I, Justin Bieber, am no longer involved in this brand,” he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story on April 10.
“Drew House doesn’t represent me or my family or life. If you’re rocking with me, the human Justin Bieber, don’t waste your money on Drew House.”
In the wake of the split, Bieber is said to be working on a new fashion line called SKYLRK, hinting at a rebrand of both his image and entrepreneurial direction.
Claims of a Star in Crisis
In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter on April 16, a former member of Bieber’s inner circle described the artist as “lost,” alleging he is surrounded by yes-men and lacks the guidance he once had.
“It’s like watching someone disintegrate,” they said.
“There’s no one protecting him. You say no, you get cut off.”
The report also claimed Bieber was left millions of dollars in debt following the abrupt cancellation of his Justice World Tour in 2022.
However, Bieber’s camp pushed back hard on those claims.
A representative dismissed the article as “clickbait stupidity” fueled by “unnamed and clearly ill-informed sources.”
“As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue,” the rep said, adding that they “won’t deter him from staying committed to following the right path.”
Self-Reflection and Mental Health Struggles
In recent weeks, Bieber has been unusually candid on social media, opening up about feelings of self-doubt, anger, and authenticity.
On March 13, he posted a vulnerable message on his Instagram Stories:
“People told me my whole life ‘wow Justin, you deserve that,’ and I personally have always felt unworthy. Like I was a fraud. Like, if only they knew my thoughts.”
Just days later, he shared a throwback photo alongside a raw admission about struggling with anger.
“I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh 🤦♂️,” he wrote on March 22.
In another post from that day, Bieber reflected on losing his sense of self in an attempt to meet others’ expectations.
“I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic… I still hate when I change myself to please people.”
Bieber is married to Hailey Rhode Bieber, an American model, socialite, and businesswoman. The couple shares one child, a son born on August 23, 2024.
