Kyeleni Ward MCA Grace Bahati, popularly known as Zora, has come out strongly to refute claims that she was involved in a love triangle with two fellow politicians during a recent trip to Malindi.
A viral publication alleged that two male MCAs from Machakos County got into a physical altercation after discovering they were both romantically involved with Zora. However, the youthful and outspoken MCA has now addressed the rumours, terming them as politically motivated lies aimed at tarnishing her image and undermining her leadership.
In a TikTok video posted on her official account, Zora stated that the accusations were part of a calculated scheme to intimidate her and sabotage her performance as an elected leader.
“I want to address a disturbing publication that has been circulating on social media. I have learned that there was a meeting held last Thursday where plans were discussed to sexually attack me in an attempt to intimidate me and stop me from carrying out my oversight role as an MCA,” she said.
Zora, who was elected as an independent candidate, emphasized that her commitment to the people of Kyeleni Ward remains unshaken despite the smear campaign.
“To the people of Machakos, I want to remind you that the role of an MCA is to oversight, legislate, and represent the people. The threats against me began after I demanded accountability from the County Government of Machakos, particularly questioning the Minister for Finance to explain where public development funds are being channeled—because the people on the ground are seeing no development,” she added.
She vowed to stay true to her mission and continue holding the county leadership accountable.
“I was elected by the people of Kyeleni Ward as an independent candidate—not through any political party—to represent their interests. I will continue to do so with courage and integrity,”
No formal statement has yet been issued by the Machakos County Assembly regarding the allegations or the alleged altercation in Malindi.
