Businessman Khalif Kairo‘s ex-girlfriend, Wavinya Maria, has hit back at claims that she benefited financially from him before walking away from their relationship.
In a heated exchange on social media, a fan bluntly asked Wavinya how she managed to leave after allegedly enjoying Kairo’s wealth. “Uliamua kukula pesa ya Kairo, ukawacha kuitwa my wife kamami. Tueleweshe role model wangu,” the fan wrote.
Wavinya swiftly responded, saying, “The fact that it looks like I ate all that money, says a lot.”
In another comment, Wavinya urged netizens to stop meddling in her affairs and move on. “Yall seriously and desperately need to move on,” she wrote.
She later dismissed another claim about their marital status, telling a follower to “catch up” on past interviews. This however will leave many netizens confused since according to a past interview, Kairo claimed that the two were married.

In an interview with Mungai Eve, Kairo, who previously dated Cera Imani, explained his decision to marry Maria so quickly. He shared that after being in toxic relationships, he knew what he wanted in a partner.
“Technically, we are actually married,” said Kairo. “I think I have been in toxic relationships, so I know what I want. Once you mature and get to a certain mindset, you are like, look, you need to settle down. You need to start having babies as soon as possible.“
Maria, a commercial model, shared her thoughts on their swift marriage. She explained that she had decided two years ago not to waste time in relationships if they weren’t progressing.
While acknowledging that their relationship isn’t perfect, Maria said she is happy with her decision to marry Kairo.
During their relationship, Wavinya and Kairo were known for their lavish lifestyle, including expensive restaurant dates and private jet trips.
Many speculated that she left after Kairo’s legal troubles began, but in February, Kairo clarified that their relationship ended in late 2024 due to his demanding work schedule.
He dismissed any claims that financial struggles played a role in their breakup.
However, it seems Maria has clearly moved on and isn’t worried about her husband’s legal troubles. In recent days, she has shared stunning images having fun and seemingly unbothered by Kairo’s issues.
On the same day Kairo was arrested, the model shared photos of herself on social media wearing a bikini and happily enjoying herself.
Kairo spend the night in Industrial Area remand prison as he was unable to raise the required Ksh 2 million bond.
Wavinya on the other hand, wife or not, has clearly moved on.
