Kenyan actress and content creator Diana Daisy has shared a harrowing experience while in Laos, a Southeast Asian country notorious for its strict immigration policies.
In a video, Daisy recounted facing harassment from immigration officers who confiscated her passport, camera, and personal belongings while demanding a hefty fine of KSh 259,000 ($2,000).
“I’m here seated, my passport was taken. My camera and everything about me was taken. This is the immigration office, they are telling me to go and cash out $2000. They thought I didn’t know the rules of this place. They just took everything from me. They are frustrating me” Daisy shared.
“I have the money with me, but they are still frustrating me. Why would they treat someone like this in Laos? Just because I am Black,” she lamented.
The content creator has yet to confirm whether she has regained her documents or resolved the issue.
