Social media fame can be a double-edged sword, and no one knows this better than TikTok sensation Nyako, real name Roseline Ngolo.
Once flaunting a lavish lifestyle in Germany and dishing out financial advice to her fans, her life has now taken an unexpected turn. The once famous content creator is now working as a butcher just to make ends meet.
Nyako skyrocketed to fame in 2023, largely due to her online feud with content creator Andrew Kibe.
At the height of her success, she lived in a spacious home, often sharing videos from her fully equipped kitchen while giving women financial empowerment tips. Her confidence, flashy lifestyle, and unapologetic personality won her a loyal fanbase.

However, things took a dramatic turn when a fellow Kenyan reported her to German authorities, accusing her of living in government-subsidized housing while claiming to be wealthy.
This led to her eviction, marking the beginning of a financial downward spiral.
“Please Help Me Pay Rent”
As her struggles mounted, Nyako turned to her fans for help, going live on TikTok to request rent assistance.
“I have been off TikTok for a few months, but I’m back. I need gifts because I have decided to provide for myself. I don’t want money from the German government.”
She revealed that she was staying with a friend and surviving on tea, struggling to afford food while trying to rebuild her life.
But not everyone was sympathetic. Some criticized her for previously boasting about wealth, questioning how she had ended up in such a predicament.

Faced with mounting expenses and growing online skepticism, Nyako made a bold move—she decided to look for a job.
“I’m working as a butcher now. I asked for rent assistance, and you saw me as useless, so I went and got a job,” she announced.
This revelation sparked mixed reactions. Some applauded her resilience, praising her for taking responsibility instead of relying on handouts. Others, however, couldn’t help but call out the contrast between her past online persona and her current reality.
Nyako’s Journey: From Kenya to Germany
Nyako’s story is one of reinvention.
Born and raised in Kenya, she moved to Germany in 2005 at the age of 23. She initially worked as a housemaid before securing a job as a driver at the American Military School.
However, her online feuds—including a notable clash with Europe-based gay Kenyan influencer Sammy Owiya, aka Chokuu—led to disruptions in her career. Notably she had a TikTok altercation with Chokuu who reported Nyako to her employer, which led to her losing her job.
