Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi just hit a major milestone—20 years together—and they’re celebrating in style.
The former talk show queen, 67, and her stunning actress wife, 52, marked the occasion on Thursday, proving that true love (and a shared love for luxury real estate) really does stand the test of time.
Ellen took to Instagram to share a dreamy sunset snapshot of their shadows, captioning it, “20 years together. Happy to be with you everywhere and always.” 💕
But this isn’t the first time the comedian has gushed over her better half. Back in December, she penned an ultra-romantic tribute to Portia.
“20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be… You are the best thing that ever happened in my life,” Ellen wrote.

Escaping the Trump Era & Trading Montecito for the Cotswolds
While Ellen and Portia’s love has been rock-solid, their location? Not so much.
The duo made headlines in November when they packed their bags and fled the U.S. following Donald Trump’s presidential victory.
Sources spilled that the couple decided to “get the hell out” after Trump defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris, leaving them feeling “very disillusioned.” Ouch.
Ellen, a vocal Harris supporter (and a generous one, reportedly donating $3,300 to her campaign), clearly wasn’t in the mood to stick around.
They left behind their $27 million Montecito mansion—once a stone’s throw from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—for a quiet, countryside escape in the Cotswolds, England.
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Ellen. Her once-iconic daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, ended in 2021 after a stunning 19-season run.
The reason? A storm of toxic workplace allegations and plummeting ratings that turned her feel-good empire upside down.
In a candid reflection, Ellen admitted the backlash took a hit on her confidence, saying she felt like she was “kicked out of show business.”
But in true DeGeneres fashion, she’s making a comeback—this time with her comedy tour, Ellen’s Last Stand… Up Tour, which is set to hit Netflix.
