Businesswoman Elseba Awuor Kokeyo, better known as Cebbie Koks Nyasego, has been appointed Senior Protocol Officer – Coordination and Operations in the office of Kithure Kindiki.
Cebbie is among at least five newly appointed staff members in the DP’s office, as announced on Monday, 17th March 2025.
Cebbie, the younger sister of celebrated musician and entrepreneur Akothee, now holds a key role in government, a milestone that was publicly announced by Viscount K’Owuor, the newly appointed Principal Public Communication Officer in the same office.
Sharing the news online, Viscount praised Cebbie for her resilience and sharp focus, highlighting her ability to rise above challenges.
He also expressed excitement about his own new role in the Deputy President’s office.
Cebbie and Akothee: Sisterhood Beyond the Headlines
In February 2024, Cebbie addressed the much-publicized speculation about her relationship with Akothee. Despite public assumptions of a rift, she clarified that their bond remains strong.
“She’s my blood sister, my biggest supporter, and the person who took me through school. People may have their opinions, but that doesn’t define our relationship,” she previously shared.
Cebbie also dismissed any notion of sibling rivalry, emphasizing that Akothee’s success is an inspiration rather than a point of jealousy.
“She’s like a mother to me, and I admire her deeply,” she said.
While acknowledging past family challenges, Cebbie remains hopeful for a fully mended relationship in the future.
“I still pray that one day, we will be a happy family again. I have nothing but love and respect for her.”
