Comedian Professor Hamo has opened up about the financial and emotional turmoil he endured after his affair with fellow comedian Jemutai became public.
Speaking on the Mic Cheque Podcast, Hamo revealed that the scandal led to the loss of brand partnerships worth KSh 14 million and severely damaged his reputation.
The comedian recalled that during his late 30s, money was flowing in, but poor financial decisions coupled with the fallout from the affair resulted in a drastic downfall.
“I was in my 30s na pesa inaingia, and so nilifanya decisions mbaya mbaya. After the scandal happened, online, nobody cared if it was true or lies. It all crumbled, and all of a sudden I lost a lot of deals. Nobody wanted to associate with me,” Hamo shared.
He further revealed that agencies he had been working with cut ties and stopped taking his calls, even on future projects he had already secured.
Despite the setback, Hamo has been working on rebuilding his career and brand in the entertainment industry.
