Media personality Kamene Goro recently inspired Kenyans by revealing that she once earned over KSh 1 million per month while working in radio.
During an appearance on a cooking show hosted by Boina, Kamene was asked whether she would consider hosting a Kiswahili radio show for a similar salary.
She confidently responded, “I have been paid more than KSh 1 million per month on radio. Radio is actually a very lucrative career where you can earn good money.”
However, she quickly dismissed the idea of hosting a Kiswahili show, citing her fluency challenges.
“But at what cost? My Kiswahili is not that fluent, and I just can’t do it. What I do on radio is different—it’s about life stories, the crazy things I do, and the crazy things I see people doing,” she explained.
When asked about her favorite co-host, Kamene named Jalang’o, describing him as easygoing and saying their great working relationship extended beyond the studio into a lasting friendship.
