Veteran socialite, entrepreneur, and all-around queen of the spotlight, Vera Sidika, has had enough of the struggles that plus-size women face in public spaces—especially when it comes to seating!
Taking to her Instagram on Friday, March 7, 2025, Vera shared a candid video highlighting her struggles as a curvy woman navigating hospitality and entertainment spaces. And trust us, she did not hold back!
“This is one of the biggest struggles in my day-to-day life. Today was a beautiful day, so I decided to head out and have something for lunch. Of course, I cannot say that I’m surprised this happened. It normally happens, but I’m just raising awareness. It is 2025, and people come in all sizes and shapes. The struggles we go through out here ain’t funny,” Vera said.
“Dear restaurants, we need bigger seats … I think it is high time restaurants prioritize thick girls like us so we could be able to have our meals properly. Thick girls’ life matters.”
The socialite’s passionate plea has sparked a heated conversation online, with fans rallying behind her message.
Many plus-size individuals echoed her sentiments, saying they often feel excluded in public spaces designed with only smaller body types in mind.
The Bigger Picture: Seating Struggles Beyond Restaurants
Over the years, Vera has openly shared her journey through various cosmetic procedures, each step adding a unique touch to her signature look.
However, in October 2022, the mother of two shocked many after disclosing that her curvy body is natural and genetic.
While Vera is calling out the hospitality industry, the struggle for plus-size inclusivity extends beyond restaurants.

Air travel, for instance, has been a long-standing battleground for plus-size passengers. With airplane seats getting smaller over the decades, more travelers are finding themselves squeezed into uncomfortable spaces—or forced to pay for an extra seat.
Airline policies on plus-size passengers vary wildly. Some, like United Airlines, require travelers who need additional space to buy an extra seat in advance.
Others offer refunds if spare seats are available after takeoff, but there’s no universal rule. This lack of consistency has left many plus-size travelers feeling frustrated and singled out.
In 2023, plus-size travel influencer Jae’lynn Chaney started a petition urging the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to enforce standardized policies that ensure fair treatment for larger passengers.
Countries like Canada have taken steps toward inclusivity, recognizing obesity as a disability and enforcing a “one person, one fare” rule on domestic flights.
However, this policy does not extend to international travel, meaning plus-size passengers still face barriers when flying abroad.
