Renowned Kenyan rapper CMB Prezzo collapsed and seemingly had a fit during the grand launch of “The Bahati’s Empire,” a reality TV show set to stream on Netflix.

Videos circulating on social media show security team members rushing to his aid before noticing the cameras recording the incident. A voice, likely of someone with authority, can be heard instructing people to stop filming.

The event, which took place on May 6, attracted numerous celebrities and media personalities, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The excitement of the occasion abruptly shifted when Prezzo fell to the ground, seemingly experiencing a seizure, as shown in the videos.

Attendees promptly provided assistance while awaiting further medical help. However, there was some debate about the appropriateness and professionalism of the first aid given by the security team, casting doubt on the initial response he received.

Some first responders were seen on the video putting a pen between the teeth of a collapsed and seizing Prezzo. This is usually done to stop a person experiencing seizures from biting their tongue during a fit. Medical professionals however usually advise against this. Reason – the person with the seizure can clamp down on the object, bite off a piece, and choke on it.

If you put your hand in their mouth, they could also bite down on it. In short, do not put anything in their mouth. Contrary to a popular myth, you can’t swallow your tongue during a seizure.

Despite the incident, the launch of “The Bahati’s Empire,” a significant milestone for musician Bahati and his family, proceeded as planned.

Bahati expressed profound gratitude for the show’s success, attributing it to the unwavering support of friends, family, the media, and industry colleagues. He particularly acknowledged his wife, Diana Marua, for her role as executive producer.
