Sauti Sol band member Bien is reportedly set to relocate and reopen his night club ‘The Manhattan bar and grill’  in Nairobi’s Kilimani area after the club was previously shut down following an eviction from Imaara Mall along Mombasa Road.

According to a statement from Manhattan, the previous closure was due to “breach of contract, intimidation, and harassment by the landlord.”

The nightclub, which initially launched in July 2022, was closed in March 2024 after a dispute between its management and the property owner, Tuffsteel Limited. The nightclub, located on the first floor of Imaara Mall on Mombasa Road in Nairobi, had been in operation for a year and eight months before closing its doors.

Bien and the other co-directors then took the landlord to court over its closure.

A source close to the directors at the time stated, “The dispute is mostly over storage space and the landlord and the directors did not see eye to eye on the matter, and thus it degenerated into a legal dispute.”

The nightclub opened in July 2022 to much celebrity hype and buzz, with Bien explaining that the reason he decided to invest in the business was because he wanted a place of his own where he could mingle with his fans.

“I also wanted an environment where I could have fun,” Bien added.

Preparations are currently underway to relaunch the popular entertainment venue in Kilimani, though the exact location has yet to be confirmed or announced.
