Kate Actress among artists accompanying President Ruto on US visit

Several Kenyan creatives are among the citizens accompanying President Ruto on his much-touted historic US visit, including Catherine Kamau aka Kate the Actress.

Kate Actress and comedian Eddie Butita announced their invitation by the US Government for a State dinner at the White House, as well as a luncheon with Hollywood movie producer Tyler Perry.

Sharing an image of the White House, Kate expressed her gratitude to the US ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, for the invitation.

She added that the creative industry has made significant strides due to the ongoing efforts by the government for intentional recognition.

“If you see us artistes especially actors get emotional under this post, please understand that we were ignored and disrespected for so long by previous administrations. We contribute 5% of Kenya’s GDP. We matter,” she explained.

Dear young & ambitious Actor, we have the crawling. Now walk with your backs high, it’s about time your craft takes care of you. The time is now, keep reinventing yourself through your craft. We are not waiting to the end,” she concluded.
