Rihanna has opened up about her romance with A$AP Rocky, the father of her two sons, in a recent cover story for Interview magazine.

The music superstar and Fenty founder revealed that their relationship began as a friendship after collaborating on a remix of her 2011 single “Cockiness (Love It).”

Their connection deepened when they co-starred in his “Fashion Killa” music video.

“We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. And we ended up in the same circles a lot. And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands and products and creative all the time,” Rihanna explained.

However, things took a turn at the end of 2019 when they decided to take their relationship to the next level.

“We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution,” Riri added

Their plans were also unexpectedly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“COVID sped up our relationship, which I felt like God knew we needed because we were going to start a family.” Despite the challenges, she believes it was the right timing, stating, “And had it not been for COVID, we would’ve taken a lot more time to get comfortable with each other, to even know that we were ready,” Rihanna stated.

The couple now shares two young sons, RZA and Riot Rose. Rihanna expressed her desire to expand their family further.

“I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” she quipped. She emphasized that the decision to have kids was natural, adding, “There was no denying it. It was the best thing that ever happened to us.”
