Media personality Kamene Goro has made a radio comeback at NRG four years after she left the station for Kiss 100.

This time however, she has not come back as a radio presenter but as the CEO of the station owned by radio tycoon Kevin Mulei.

NRG Radio has announced Kamene’s arrival via social media. “She is back home!! A CEO that doesn’t give a f**k. Join us in welcoming @kamenegoro who is joining NRG Radio as CEO. #NRGRadioKenya.”

Kamene was fired by Kiss in January last year after  honchos at the station have grown tired of a dip in ratings of the morning show that she was presenting.

She had been poached from NRG Radio alongside Andrew Kibe, a move that caused social media buzz on a salary in the range of half a million shillings.

She however developed a habit of not showing to work and giving lame excuses just an hour to the start of her 6am breakfast show.

“Kamene made a regular habit of not showing up to work, and she could give all manner of excuses most of the time, saying she was sick, and later she would upload photos and videos on social media of someone in a totally different situation,” a source has told Nairobi News at that time.

“When the top management took notice, that caused friction between her and them. There was actually a disciplinary panel set up to look into her conduct, and colleagues she closely worked with said she would text them at 6 AM, an hour to the start of her show, saying she won’t make it to work and request someone to hold her brief,” the source added.
