Joseph Noriega, the former manager of Kenyan musician Otile Brown, has made a surprising decision to cancel his wedding to his Belgian girlfriend just a month before the scheduled date. The planned Mombasa wedding will not proceed, leaving many bewildered by the unexpected turn of events.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Noriega revealed that he harbors no regrets about calling off the marriage with his former partner, a nurse from Belgium. Despite the family’s anticipation and their travel to Kenya for the ceremony, Noriega made the decision to cancel the wedding approximately one month before its slated date.

“I was actually about to get married to a very beautiful girl from Belgium. She is a nurse by profession. The family wanted us to get married and end up together. I called off the wedding like a month to the wedding. The family had travelled to Kenya to witness the wedding. I think it was just not meant to be,” he explained.

Noriega explained that a trip to Dar-es-Salaam played a pivotal role in his decision-making process. He met someone during the trip who made him question his understanding of love, prompting him to reassess his feelings.

“I think I was ready and I was sure about it but I took a trip to Dar-es-Salaam and then I met someone there, and she made me question everything I knew about love,” Noriega shared.

Despite being in a relationship with his Belgian girlfriend for approximately eight months to a year and being introduced to her family, Noriega expressed disappointment in not proceeding with the wedding. He cherished his connections with his soon-to-be in-laws and had a heartfelt conversation with his then-future father-in-law, who understood and respected his decision.

Following the cancellation, Noriega faced challenges in attempting to reconcile with his former partner. His efforts to engage in a conversation were met with resistance, as she blocked him on all platforms. Additionally, plans for their honeymoon to Zanzibar had to be abandoned in the aftermath of the cancelled wedding.
