Actor Chance Perdomo, renowned for his portrayal of warlock Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has tragically passed away at the age of 27 in a motorcycle accident, as confirmed by his publicist.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Southampton, Perdomo gained recognition for his performance in the BBC Three drama Killed by My Debt, earning a nomination for Best Actor at the 2019 Bafta TV awards.
In a statement, his publicist expressed, “His insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him.” The statement, obtained by CBS, further conveyed condolences to Perdomo’s family and requested privacy as they grieve.
Details regarding the location and cause of the accident have not yet been disclosed. However, Perdomo’s representative assured that no other individuals were involved.
In addition to his role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Perdomo portrayed Andre Anderson in Amazon Prime’s superhero series Gen V. He initially pursued law after completing his education and ventured into acting in 2017 with a role in the CBBC series Hetty Feather.
Perdomo’s performance in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina led to his recognition as one of Bafta’s “Breakthrough Brits” in 2019.
Following his Bafta nomination for Best Actor, Perdomo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response to Killed by My Debt, a docudrama depicting the real-life struggles of Jerome Rogers, a motorcycle courier in London who tragically took his own life due to mounting debt.
